Catherine Ong

Research Assistant

I am a Year 3 Nursing student at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, currently pursuing a minor in Public Health at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. I am passionate about forest and coastal conservation, and have contributed to mangrove restoration research in Lombok Indonesia, conducting ecological field assessments and species-level measurements to support restoration efforts.

My current research interests lie in applying GIS and geospatial mapping tools to investigate the relationship between environmental conditions and human health. Outside of research, I enjoy mountain trekking, running and spending time in nature, and hope to bridge my interests in health and the environment through meaningful research.
